Moving in

I stayed in today; nursing my wrath virus, taking various medicaments, doing breathing exercises, dozing, plus doing a bit of work and a bit of studying. I thought an indoor blip was inescapable.

However, I suddenly heard a loud, rasping conversation start up outside and went to have a look. It was Mr and Mrs Crow of Leith, loudly discussing the facilities (or lack of) of last year's nest. A week or so ago DH saw them discussing taking over a v untidy old magpie's nest in a nearby tree, but evidently that didn't suit. I think they were probably recalling how violently the birch tree lurches about when there's a strong wind; but how they successfully reared a couple of youngsters in the end. (I suppose this is Mrs sitting on the nest and Mr gazing off in the opposite direction, but am not that au fait with the corvine niceties.)

Nice to see a bit of nesting start though. Can spring be far behind?
