Burning Brightly.
Glorious weather again today!! It must have been pushing 17 degrees celsius at points. Sara and I headed out to the beach for a wander. The tide was right out on the horizon. The beach had no slope to it at all so I'm guessing that the water would simply zoom in an out like the tides of Morecambe Bay. The top end of the beach was completely littered with oyster shells, too, an indication of the main source of industry here.
I got this shot on the way home, having mooched around in town for a bit in town to capitalise on the abundance of baguettes and beer they have there.
La Rochelle springs to life when the sun comes out, all the port side restaurants are stuffed with stuffy looking people stuffing their faces with crepes and gaufres. Good looking people with chinos and sunglasses parade their French bulldogs up and down the port side. You can feel the ogling eyes of a hundred and one coffee slurpers/people watchers criticizing your every step as you stroll along the pavement. And then when you sit down to have a coffee yourself, you find yourself staring at everyone who walks past too. You become one of them. One of the oglers. Although, admittedly, it is a small passion of mine, people watching.
