Pigeon Key

We took a scenic drive down to Key West today. The weather was warm and very tropical. We stopped just past Marathon at the 7 mile bridge. We started walking down the old historical bridge, not planning on going too far, so we hadn't put any sunscreen on and ended up getting a nasty burn. Ended up taking the 2.2 mile walk down to the end of the bridge and looked around Pigeon Key, a small island. This is a picture of the island, looking up at the old bridge. Along our walk we could see stingrays, big white turtles, man of war, and dolphins in the ocean. We stopped and watched them for a while, waiting for the turtle to pop up it's head so I could get a clear picture of it. It took five minutes and then we saw him. We enjoyed seeing Key West, but it was very crowded and busy. We decided our walk along the 7 mile bridge, looking out to the Atlantic Ocean on one side, and the Gulf of Mexico on the other side, was our highlight of the day.
