Star Cake

Mrs P is a star, always there for me and the kids and the rest of the family, so we thought we would make a cake for her today. Pesky Princess and i spent all day making this lovely red velvet cake. It's our best attempt so far, although its very very rich.

Rather than doing the Valentines day thing tomorrow, i cooked a lovely 3 course meal this evening, bruschetta for starters, chicken in a cream & tarragon sauce for mains, and the velvet cake with cream for desert, accompanied with wine of course. Stuff the diet for one night!
