Periscope In The Forest

Saw this when out walking today and liked it because it was so out of place. It's not connected to anything nor is there any clue as to what it's meant to be for.

In other News from Germany, I was sitting here this afternoon doing important things when there was a really loud rumble. Like so loud I thought Blimey that's a big truck. And about exactly as I was having that thought, the house started to shake. I've never been in the situation where I can feel the world juddering around me but today i was. It feels decidedly odd.

A news report from a local source confirmed it was an earthquake. Albeit a small one at 4.8 on whatever scale* they used (and later downgraded to 4.4). Moot demonstrated his hyper awareness to all of this seismic activity by sleeping through it.

*Various scales are available - Modified Mercalli Scale, European Macroseismic Scale, Shindo Scale & MSK-64 to name a few.
