Sandstone, Wellington Cathedral of St Paul

Originally I trained as a geologist. Of all the sedimentary rocks, sandstone is my favourite. It has beautiful texture and form. In the rock you can see ancient layers of sand, and imagine the ancient beach or seafloor, eons past, where the sand was first laid down.
