A scholar and a gentleman

I love this little statue on the roof of the General Assembly Library in Wellington. Rain or shine, wind or calm, he stands proud, contemplative and serene on his perch.

I think he represents a scholar, or a legislator - the General Assembly Library is located next to New Zealand's House of Representatives. Or, perish the thought, a lawyer.
