Madres

It's rare that my camera catches the mountains - even when they are clear to the human eye, they are completely ignored by my camera's lense.
Five minutes ago, the light was perfect and I caught Madres from my bedroom window, skimming the roof of Sarda's barn, out along the little valley where the road rises up intpo the Ariege.
It could be mistaken for a cloud resting on the horizon, but it is Madres, the penultimate peak before the range fall into the Mediterranean. It sits beside the great dog-headed Canigou, the yin to Canigou's yang, it is undeniably female; vast and rounded, the Mother.
