In the sprall that is the campus of Paul Sabatier, this is the least loved building - the signs are ignored, the doors stand open, heavy-duty radiators beat out heat which meets the cold air of outside. A small sticker by the doors of the toilets whispers 'veuillez eteindre les lumieres s'il vous plait', ineffectually. The signs above the various amphitheatres are almost illegible, lacking vowels.
Elsewhere on the campus the buildings are more confident, dating from a later era, politically correct, environmentally friendly, unashamedly architecturally designed,; boasting atriums, curved frontages, time-switch lights, wood and glass, vast windows and automatic doors shutting the cold out, keeping the solar-panelled heat in.
