Not quite down to the silver

I've been loving the spring pictures on here recently. Not that many signs of it up here, or rather, I've not been to the right places!

This birch had lots of birds and there were some, erm, amorous chaffinches in the trees round the bowling green - though I didn't think the males I've seen today were having much success! Maybe didn't buy valentines flowers for their lady friends....

I'm sure there must be silver under the bark of these most beautiful of trees. Somewhere. But today, I'll have to make do with the perfect, soft new bark slowly being revealed.
