Lunch

Having read an article yesterday in the Telegraph on the issue of thrift, I'm not sure I can proclaim this lunch as 'thrifty'!

We are in many respects quite a thrifty house. I do lots of cooking from scratch, we have an allotment - allbeit in an appalling state - we're still ground clearing!, we turn off sockets at night and use energy efficient bulbs/appliances where possible. However then I do things like smoked salmon bagels for the childrens lunch (they love smoked salmon!) and buy more electrical appliances.

Oh dear. As my school report often said: 'must try harder'
