Mince and Mash
On February 10th, Sugar Magnolia up in Canada posted a blip about mince and mash. I was very intrigued, as I had never heard of it, and asked her to tell me what was in it. She replied that she would. On February 13th, she posted the recipe on one of my blips. So, tonight, I had to make Mince and Mash.
Betty, my good friend that I work with on Tuesdays at the yarn shop, who is from Dundee, Scotland, said they have the same thing, except they call it tatties and mince. Well, low and behold, here in the Western USA we call it mashed potatoes and hamburger gravy. In any case, it is wonderful, and very much a comfort food, and the Canadian version is EXCELLENT!
One thing the blipfoto community has taught me is that although we're all different, we're more alike than we are different. And, there are wonderful people all over the world. I have met so many good friends on blipfoto. It has given me insights into other parts of the world that I could not have gotten any other way. Thanks, everyone, for sharing a part of your daily life with me.
