treats & treats

a treat to have lunch out (at tempus on george st, edinburgh) and a huge treat to be around the table with S & B, dearly beloved chums who i see once in a blue moon and even less so all of us together. main courses good, desserts disappointing, service indifferent, surroundings nice, prices not too far from ideal - but the company and the chat was the main thing. i wish we were all in the same country at least, or better still the same city! but then we wouldn't be who we are and the friendships wouldn't be how they are, so i guess i won't meddle.

afterwards S and i did a little light shopping and chatting and then i stuck her on the train - couldn't persuade her to stay the night - and came home, a combination of elated to have spent time and deflated that time was over. the true friends i have are the best friends i could have, i should remember that more often.
