...Someone left the cake out......
But not in the rain.
As is the custom with the Science Faculty I bought the cake for my birthday today.
A huge chocolate confection, covered in chocolate shavings, Smarties, Mini Rolo's and Mini Munchies, all for £4.50! As you can see it's not all been eaten yet so it'll be seconds tomorrow at break time.
Colleagues were their usual piss taking selves this morning with less than complementary cards, and even a badge that requested people to "give up their seat for this old person". Several lessons were interrupted by colleagues arriving at my door and announcing my birthday to my classes which resulted in several renditions of "Happy Birthday", including my class of 16 year olds!
When I got home tonight and turned on my computer I found 50 Facebook messages, mainly from ex-pupils, wishing me birthday congratulations and this has now grown to 76 messages.Whoops 77, a new message has just popped up!
All in all, considering there's nothing special about this birthday, except for the fact that for hebs and I this year we're in school for our big days instead of on half term break, its been a good day.
Now , just waiting for the Daughter to get home from work and the Son and Heir and Young Helen to turn up, then we're off out for tea. My treat, of course.
Thanks to everyone who wished me congratulations here in blip world.
Das vidanya moy padruga.
p.s. Number 78 has just arrived.
