The Red House
I stayed overnight in Newcastle, necessitating a quick back-blip for yesterday. It also meant I caught the Red House on Sandhill illuminated by the early morning sun - a distant memory since I got back to the driving rain and general murk in Scotland.
Didn't have time to check out the plaque but it's quite old, probably 17th century - the building to its left is of similar vintage I think. I read somewhere that it was built with bricks brought back from Flanders as ballast (presumably once the ships had unloaded their wool).
