Green and Brown

Went out for a little blip safari this afternoon. This is what I found, lots of magpies in pairs and then this muddy reflection of a green gate. It looks a bit more interesting than the magpies so it made it onto blip today.

Apparently St Valentine's Day is when it is because of it being at the beginning of the bird mating season. Maybe that's why those magpies were all in pairs... Although they kept their distance.

It was very dreich this morning but luckily cleared up a little in the afternoon. I listened to "Die Winterreise" when walking this afternoon and I don't know what it is with Schubert but he manages to express emotions really well. And only listening while walking (and not washing dishes or cleaning or whatever) actually made me understand much more of the content of the songs than before.

Grandma and Grandpa arrived today, it's always a laugh and the kids absolutely love them being there. Lots of treats and funny stories.
