surely you can see

Thanks for the comments on my identity crisis yesterday, although I'll try to thank you individually. In the end for now I'm going with Not a Photographer, but on my way...and this way I have something to look forward to. :)

Of course my identity crisis continues. I was intrigued by idea of a solo photo book month, largely because I have a certificate for a free book from shutterfly which must be used by April 30th.

So I thought "What kind of pictures, really, do I take?". Last year I spent a lot of time taking cityscapes and still lives, mostly on a tripod. This week I've been assembling a set of my most meaningful pictures from the last year (meaningful to me for whatever reason), and there is only one picture taken on a tripod! Half of them are pictures of people, which lets me know that despite my frequent difficulties bringing the camera up to my eye and aiming it at people, I should be doing it more - clearly it means something to me.

If it weren't for the challenge of forming a topic for a "book" (don't worry, I'm not going to self publish it and shill it on blipfoto), I would just let it drop and keep taking pictures - I'm relatively new to this and have plenty of time to figure this stuff out. Maybe I'll just do that anyway, and my "book" (i.e. pdf file) will be called "whatever I felt like, april 2008". That would be fine, I suppose. :)
