Not the crows nest....

...but the magpie's nest.
Every year a pair of magpie's nest here. Last year it was a young male and a female who was playing VERY hard to get, so there was much noisy wooing going on. It used to be in the middle of the tree, but after a pruning last month, the leafy coverage is much reduced. There were actually people in the street talking to the workmen and telling him he was NOT to cut the nest down! I admit I was one of them. The birds put on a great show last year as he tried every chat up line he knew to get her to respond to his and, as the leaves then covered the nest up, I can only assume that he got his wicked way with her in the end.
