Just A Little Rest

We are literally (god, how I detest using that word) twenty steps from the house. But they sit, so I stop.

"Mum look! Up there! It's a bird!"
"No, mummy it's a plane!"

"Kids, it's Superman!"

"What? No it's not it's....*sighs* Mum are you talking about?"

The simple things are lost on them. I forget they aren't born with pop culture embedded in the brain, despite my ever intelligent quips about the modern world.
