Boy Up The Pole
I went for a walk after work with Mrs O. The nights are starting to get shorter and shorter and for the first time in ages it looked like the light was going to go down before we got the chance to grab a evening Blip.
"Dont panic Otago Lad a blip will come and find you" a voice was telling me.
I have often looked at this statue outside the dyslexia association building but it was never quite right, Ive thought about getting Kiwitex to give me a lighting instruction session to see if I can resolve the dilemma that it causes me.
Today we managed to get the last light of the day and I found something like what Ive been looking for.
It got me thinking.........
Dyslexia is such a terrible disorder that effects so many people. Some cant deal with it and others see it as a challenge and thrive on it and go on to be just oh so successful.
This little fella to me is in the former group, he is hiding under his hoodie away from the light as if anonomous. He doesnt want to come out from the shadows and expose himself to our gaze.
The next time I meet someone, for whatever reason, who is like this I intend to gently encourage them into the light and do all I can to support them once they are there so the can grow to accept it and reach there potential.
We all deserve to reach our potential........
