A Dark Fanfare

.............to the emperor of the dark forces of computer and camera technology who decided today that my computer would not read the CF card from my camera, nor from another camera when I tried to read a different CF card.

They worked perfectly yesterday. No changes were made to the settings in the computer or the cameras. So why the computer (and my laptop computer) have now decided that they want to format the CF cards before they can be used can only be anawered by the Darth Vader of the computer-world. If he already has a name then some well-informed Blipper can enlighten me. If he doesn't then I've provisionally named him Darth Microsoftus.

After much muttering of various oaths and indigestion from a hastily consumed dinner I overcame the problem by tethering the camera directly to the computer and lo - images taken today appeared on the screen. My initial enthusiasm having been sapped by Darth's forces I decided that the only suitable image for today was dark trumpets.
