I had a great time walking around the park with my mom today.

Spotting this turtle reminded us both of my grandfather who sometimes rescued and befriended old desert turtles. They would follow him about like puppies. Rather large puppies, however, since they weighed hundreds of pounds.

Edit: Thank you Tucson Jim for reminding me that what he had were desert tortoise. (I'm just glad I didn't call them dessert turtles!) ;)
