i am going to say that this is all out of focus on purpose...as a creative way of summing up that 'last day of the holidays' feeling...

couldn't bear to take the xmas tree down until today - is that bad luck? i'll have to wait and see.

it was a chaotic mix of homemade stuff and shiny things that the kids chose. now there's a big empty space in the living room where it stood.

a growing pile for the charity shop is the fruit of the day's labour, as are an ex-pile of scones, some chlorine-saturated swimming costumes and the discovery that our pal boo is the man they couldn't sink - i have never laughed so much at someone attempting to dive to the bottom of a swimming pool..

back to the 'up and out' routine tomorrow. blurgh.
