Update: in January 2023, we left our home of 23 years in Arnside and moved to Caroline’s home village of Bishop Wilton, on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Our beautiful collie Gus moved with us, though by then he was 17 years old and had been ailing for the last 18 months. We lost him a month after moving here, and with him I lost my inspiration for photography and blipping. So, here in January 2024, I am trying to refind some inspiration in the landscapes of East Yorkshire. It is so different here to Arnside, I miss the coast with its ever changing light and tides, but here there are new challenges to represent a rural landscape that has its own beauty and variety.
Original text:
I live in the village of Arnside in Cumbria, on the south side of the Kent Estuary which flows into Morecambe Bay. Most of my blips come from close to home or work, though I do occasionally venture beyond.
I take photographs of things I like - light, landscapes and life.
I am married to Caroline (known as Wifie) and we live with Gus the collie, and Reg the tortoise (though he has gone Walkabout, hopefully to return with the warmer weather). Gladders is an old school nickname, my real name is Paul.
