Once there was a girl from a coastal town who decided to set out into the world to make her fortune. She found, however, that fortunes are not easily made and that for her to succeed in her quest, she would need to educate herself in some art or science.

She carefully reviewed her skills. She could read, write, and talk. Not very useful skills, she decided, but nevertheless they were the only skills she could use.

So she read some books, and from those books she learned to write in her own voice, and in her own voice, she learned to speak to others. She is still in the process of learning to perfect her skills, and in the mean time, is learning to document her life in other ways.
