I'm what is left of a journalist. I've spent my life describing events, things and people in words. What I like most about photography is that it allows me to capture in a visual way my emotions about what I see around me. So most of the time the picture that I take is only partly to do with the physical elements that actually appear in the photograph. It is usually much more to do with the emotions, memories or hopes that the subject of the photograph evoke in me. I have no way of knowing if those feelings come across to the viewer of my pictures but that is why I walk around carrying a camera.
