For as long as he can remember, Michael has been obsessed with movies. However it was not until he was seven that he discovered that he wanted to be a filmmaker - the summer he saw Jurassic Park four times in two weeks. Since then he has been making movies, writing stories, and taking pictures, and will be graduting with a B.A. in Cinema from Denison University in May, 2008.

Despite still being a full-time student, Michael has already amassed an impressive list of credits as a cinematographer, camera assistant and in other various roles. He shot his first feature, Placebo (dir. Keith Feighan) in 2006, in HD-35mm; Placebo had its world premiere at the 2008 Omaha Film Festival and will be featured at the Philadelphia and Newport Beach Film Festivals. He also served as Gaffer and "B" Camera Operator on the HD feature Eclipse (dir. Justin Steumpfle), and as 1st Assistant Camera ("focus puller") on the HD feature Minus One (dir. Jon Obseck).

Michael has worked extensively in both the HD and 16mm formats, having shot more than a dozen student film projects including three which he wrote and directed. He is currently working on his second senior thesis film, Jerusalem Syndrome.

Michael will be moving to Los Angeles in the fall of 2008 to pursue an M.F.A. in Cinematography.
