My name is Jane Wright and this is my first Blipfoto journal which I started on 1st January 2015. I am aiming to keep going for at least the whole of this year. I am finding it fun in so far as every day I think "what am I doing today that is worthy of a blip". Sometimes this is really quite a challenge!
At work I am Head of an academic department: Property & Construction, at the University of Westminster. This role is demanding and stressful at times but I am lucky to have a really excellent team of colleagues in the Department who do a fantastic job.
Outside of work, I live in Great Bookham in Surrey, am married to Geoff and we have 2 grown up children, Chris and Penny, of whom I am immensely proud. My mum (Winnie but called "gran" by everyone) is 92 and lives in the same road.
January 2018 - update: I still live and work at the same places. Chris is now 30 and married to the lovely Shelly (16.12.16) who is a midwife. Penny is 29 and she and Steve (getting married on 3rd August 2018) are working at the British School of Guangzhou. Penny is now Head of Art. And my mum aka gran is now 95 and still living in the same road.
31.12.18. 2018 has been tough. My University has been a "Transformation Plan". I do have a job though, and am now Head of the School of Applied Management. Exciting and challenging times ahead. My lovely mum died on 28th December. Peaceful and expected . She was a lovely lady and I miss her already.
29.09.23 Another tough year really. I wont bore you but lots of changes. (which of course we have to embrace). My husband died on 19th April. And I then retired from my job at the University of Westminster on 31st July. A new chapter begins. There is a challenging amount of paperwork to sort through and when that is done it will feel like a black cloud has lifted.
