I've just moved to the city after living in the country all my life. I'm hoping to capture as much of the essence of this fine city and its nearby areas as I can.

I'm 57 and have been lucky enough to retire early which gives me some (I won't say enough) time to explore and snap some pictures.

I feel that I need to learn so much more about photography especially how to 'see' a good photo before I take it and then how to use manual settings to make it outstanding. Any help or comments will be appreciated.

I use a variety of cameras including:
Nikon D7000
Nikon D60
Nikon V2
Samsung Galaxy GC100
Apple iPhone 5
Apple iPad mini

and post on Instagram, Twitter and SXC.
