Well my name is Savannah and yea I hate writing these sort of things but here goes...
I am 22 years old and grew up in a small country town about 80km from Brisbane Australia. I guess my interest in photography started a while after I finished school. I was in the top of my class for film and originally that's what I wanted to do with my life. After I was rejected into uni for a degree in film and television I went to uni anyway and completely wasted my time and money because I was not passionate about the course I was doing.. so.. about a year and a half later, obviously I dropped out.. something I'm not entirely proud of but life goes on.. the form of still photography slowly started to grow in me, I started visualizing what would make a good photo and became more aware of other peoples incredible work, I thought, wow these people have taken a vision and turned it into a piece of art.. Maybe this is some thing I would like to have a go at, something that would inspire and give me a way to express myself! The more I learned and the more I saw, the more I wanted to do it.. So I started saving and eventually (after 3 ridicules years) I got my camera and am currently at the very start of a short online course which is teaching me more then I thought It would. What do I want out of this.. well I am not entirely sure, I am thinking of going back to uni and doing a communications degree to get into the photojournalism side of things but who knows I may find love elsewhere.. I was over the moon when I found this site because it is kicking the laziness out of me and I find I am working with my camera a lot more in order to get a photo up here every day.. I am very amateur but I absolutely love every little detail I am learning and I really hope Ill learn off here too..I can only practice, learn from mistakes and get better right?.... :)
