Hi all! My name is Randy and I am pleased to meet you.
i'd like to give you a quick description of myself, but honestly, there are many uncertainties. I'm 33 years old and undergoing a fair amount of transition.
I have a seven year-old son, and I was married for ten years.
I am trained as a social worker, but I've not worked in that field. Instead, after I graduated, I ended up working for six years in a customer service call center. Then, the financial crisis prompted that center to trim its numbers.
Now, I am engaged in the thankless task of finding a job... though I'm treating it more as an opportunity to rediscover my passion. I'm considering going on to further academic study.
I have been intensely introspective lately, studying my values, skills and motivations. I am the kind of person who will drop everything if I notice a tear in your eye. I will sit with you the entire afternoon to hear what's troubling you. I am curious about everything. I want to know how people work. Why do we feel the way we do? What are you thinking? What are the neurotransmitters doing in your brain to affect how you think? (Did I mention I also studied neuroscience?)
I have never before given myself an artistic outlet, so I am looking forward to taking a chance with Blip. Maybe I have a photographer hidden deep within me somewhere, crouched between the writer, the activist and the scientist.
