My name is Alan. I live in Brisbane on the east coast of Australia. Rana and I moved here in October 2024. Before that, we'd retired to Lennox Head, a couple of hours drive south, and before that we lived in Canberra, Perth and Sydney.

Apart from photography, my interests include travel, walking, the natural environment, food and wine. I read a lot, especially political history, crime fiction and fiction generally

I'm revising my Blipfoto profile in February 2025, three years after joining up. My decision to join was stimulated by an article in The Guardian about the Blipfoto experience. At the time, I didn't expect I'd still by blipping 3 years later, and that posting a daily blip would be a compelling part of my regular daily routine.

Nor did I expect that I'd find new friends on Blipfoto and enjoy frequent exchange of views - on matters photographic and otherwise. I apologise that I'm sometimes slow to acknowledge other blippers' photos and thoughts, but assure you all that I get much pleasure in keeping up with lots of fascinating journals and great photos from around the world.
