An update: I've been blipping for six years, amazingly enough, and some things have changed in my life. I am now a proud great aunt to the two cutest twins in the world, Sam and Max, who were born in April 2020. They figure in many of the photos I'm blipping now. I've adopted a new cat, 3 year old Sylvie.. I'm still delighted to be a part of Blipfoto, though I have less energy to devote to it than earlier.
An update: I've been on Blip for more than two years now and have finally achieved the 365 milestone. I love being a blipper and sharing the love and compassion of this marvelous community. And I'm finding myself as a photographer. I never was one before Blip, but I'm seeing what my eye is drawn too and learning about how to show that in my photos. I know I am a far better photographer for having been on Blip. You will note I've changed my avatar. The old one no longer looks much like me, and since I've not taken a new one I can stand to look at, I'm switching to this picture that I love.
I'm a retired psychologist living in Seattle, Washington for the last 37 years. Originally a New Yorker, I moved here to be near my sister and help raise my two wonderful nieces. Finding a focus in retirement has been difficult for me - I've tried lots of things, but nothing lasting. I learned about Blipfoto from my sister Endless Weekend and our mutual friend Connections, and I've been looking at all the great photos here for more than a year. Now I'm ready to take a stab at it, with my very basic digital camera and my complete lack of experience. I appreciate your support.
