Tulips
A couple of friends landed at lunchtime, by the skin of their teeth it seems, after a late-start from Jen's flat in London, which resulted in them stepping foot into Luton airport at 8am, for an 8.20 flight. They caught it though, which is a bit of a result for (s)Wizz Air, although not before Jen falling spectacularly after not tying her shoe-laces after the security point, and AMO dropping her boarding card along the way, being chased by a good samaritan to reunite pass and boarder. Phew - I was done in, just hearing about their journey.
I had to work in the afternoon, so fed and watered them at work and packed them off in a taxi to do the Old Town, which is just as well, because knowing what I know now (as I back blip four days later...) the weather was set to turn miserable for the weekend. They managed to find their way back to mine in the early evening, bringing a couple of bunches of tulips as a much-welcomed substitute to the promised newspapers and UK magazines that they didn't have time to get!
It was an evening in, with the much-acclaimed Lebanese supper (that seems to be the routine for all arriving visitors...) and some beers, wine and of course singstar. Talk about predictable.
