Maintenance

After being introduced to breathing and working with SCBAs on, we got to play with tools. And by play I mean smash doors open, cut wood, slice open roofs, and chop metal.

Perhaps a subject for a future blip, the tools of the day were definitely the "halligan" and the Hilti DSH 900. The DSH is an angry saw that you can use to cut through anything: doors, concrete, roofing, tiles, wood, metal, you name it. A but scary, but in a good way.

That was Wednesday. Today we toured the maintenance facility that the City has to keep all of our equipment in top working order. If there's any problem that we can't fix in the hall, we tag it and send it here. The pros on staff can put pretty much anything back into working order, including the trucks.
