Learning curve
A very steep one!
As a favour to my cousin, I went down to see her today to take some portraits that she can use as portfolio shots.
The final ones are here (low res)
The car was duly loaded with lights, backdrops, cameras, lenses and laptop. James went to a friend's house for the afternoon and Corin and I tootled on our way to South Cheshire.
Lots of experimenting to get the light right initially, then we cracked it.
Test shots.
Head and shoulder shots.
Hair up.
Hair down.
A bit of a mix.
Costume changes.
Different make-up.
Fortunately my lovely assistant was on hand, to provide back up shots and cups of tea. Most importantly, to make my wonderful model relax and laugh.
She was a natural. She can smile a natural looking smile on demand, but can do 'mean and moody' too.
We ended up with 1300 shots, 500 went to the cutting room floor, and eventually with some critical approaches to filtering out, I eventually got down to about 40 shots that have been finalised. I have too many favourites but this was the one I picked because she looks FEISTY! I'll link to the others tomorrow when I have sought approval to do so.
After 3 hours of photography, we popped into Dad's to drop birthday cards off and admire the new car. Sitting in the driver's seat was like mission control at NASA - awesomely gorgeous and gadget-ed up to the hilt. Not jealous, just in awe. As I said to Dad - it's a bit early for me yet for a car like that. One day. Just not yet!
Am knackered after spending 3 hours in front of the computer.
Night all.
