Argyll Hustings

Got an invite to go to listen the the prospective political candidates giving their spiel re Argyll. Was quite interesting.
Topics covered: REnewable energy (Labour candidate still supporting nuclear power went down like a radio active balloon!
Roads, much made about our many potholes, Liberal candidate took a bit of stick over this
Ferries, SNP were groweld at over this one
Schools became a bit livley

All in all the Liberal candidate was confident but quite deliberate with her replies (her back to the wall as she is in the present council)
Labour guy well he was just on a diffirent planet altogether
SNP chappy spoke well but is a seasoned campaigner and possibly the most clever chap in the whole of the SNP but folks here still smarting when SNP tried to sell off the Argyll forrests so he has a mountain still to climb but was clearly the best one there today, confident, articulate & humerous with quick responses
Tory chappy can always be relied on to inject some humour in the proceedings whether intentional or not!

I did my wee piece to camera for the Beeb without too much problems so glad that was over!

The topic that raised most handclapping/ire/foot stomping.......BEAVERS

Says it all about the kind of retired or middle aged southerners folks there.
