Sound affects

Scrabbling at the ever-widening hole in the wall, Bob and Adam jumped at the sound of the two sharp reports.

Flat and undramatic as it was, there was something awful about the crack-crack sound.

"Was that...?" asked Bob, his voice tailing off.

"Think of it as a starting pistol," replied Adam, grim-faced. "And work faster."
