Young Halibut
Not much time for blipping today. I went to the dentist this morning, then to an NSEA committee meeting, and finally to Costco, where I bought some fresh halibut. In this context, I think fresh means it hadn't been frozen -- it was from California.
It's the smallest halibut I've ever seen -- just over 2 pounds (1 kg). I'm wondering if it's a good thing to be catching them that young. I'll have to ask my Cornish fisher friend, Jeremy.
I had some for dinner with peas and corn (frozen), kept some for tomorrow, and froze the rest. It was very good.
