Traditions
I'm so glad to have made some friends here in Turin.
After learning past tense this week, it's pretty amazing how much I understand at the dinner table or in connect group on Wednesday!
This evening, we went to a new sports bar for beer and food. I don't drink beer, but the fruity/ flowery ones from Belgium are acceptable. This one packaged in paper was quite nice. Sorry that it's blurry though!
It's Easter weekend and in Italy there's only one extra day off on Monday. As usual, there are a zillion traditions, with massive chocolate eggs for kids and this special cake (it's the same one for Christmas) in a dove shape. Thankfully, Roberto's family doesn't do any of them.
I like to question traditions. Most of them are really just non-sense. Especially dislike the ones that they claim are 'Christian' when in actual fact, it's just man-made habits. Read the Bible and you'll see that most of them are not even in the book.
In our future family, we'll create ones that carries meanings to us. We'll keep whatever that's particularly significant (and I'll do the research of its origins) from our cultures (British/ Italian/ Chinese.... or wherever) and simply strip the ones that are rubbish :)
