Hey, hey we're the Monk..(s)....

Today we have visited the Boss' dad and step mother. Having dragged my dad out for fresh air and sunshine yesterday, we decided to do the same with them today.

We took them to Mount Grace Priory, an old Carthusian Priory in N.Yorkshire. Once again what was a "free" piece of heritage when I was a kid (donations gratefully received) has now been taken over by English Heritage, so it cost £20 for the four of us to get in. Esssentially it consists of the ruined chapel and the remains of 23 monk's cells, basically just the bottom couple of feet of the walls (as all the stone was nicked eons ago to build a manor house, farm, barn etc) sticking out of a nice bit of grass.

Why are English Heritage so much more expensive than National Trust?

Any way we had a wander, and a sit, and an ice cream (£1.60 each) and then went back to the F in L's .

The Boss made some lovely salmon for dinner (Good Friday....Good Catholics us.....the bacon butties at my Dad's for breakfast don't count!!!!), lightly poached in brown sugar and lemon juice, but the step mother insisted on doing the veg to go with it........not sure mashed potato, mashed turnip and green beans were the best choices.

Later we went out in the garden and watched the ISS (International Space Station) fly over.

I back blipped yesterday if you're interested.

Das vidanya moy padruga.
