Hats off

Went to Wimpole Hall near Cambridge with the parents today - a great place. National Trust volunteers who stand around in stately homes getting excited about bits of carpet from the 1860s are the salt of the Earth. The sheer joy they get from telling you bits of trivia warms the cockles of the heart.

I can't quite get over how nice the weather has been recently. Surely the warmest April on record. Climate change in action.

Haven't got the next 3 days off work as 95% of the country seems to, so will grit teeth, get through it and then repeat the 4-day weekend in a few days thank you very much. I've always loved the royals and everything they stand for.
