The Remains of the Tree
Or, How I Spent Easter Monday.
The large fuchsia that had died over the winter was making me sad every time I looked out of the window and saw it's lifeless skeleton. So, yesterday was chopping day. At least 4 hours later this was all that remained, waiting to be disposed of.
A big space, and I'll miss the colour all through the summer and into autumn, but it is regenerating from the roots, so giving the new stems more light and air should help them come along.
There was another drawback - this tree was the landing pad for the birds who come to my bird feeder. Cue some very confused sparrows!
