Happy Easter 2011!

Today was a wonderful Easter. I first enjoyed seeing the boys eyes light up at the little goodies the 'Easter Bunny' brought them. Loren's basket included a poker set (since he's become fond of Texas Hold 'Em), a puzzle book, and candy goodies. Liam's basket included the game of Cuponk that he had been wanting, a book, a frisbee and some braces-friendly candy. Landon's basket included a Moon Sand Castle Kit, Bible coloring book, Spiderman activity book and candy goodies as well.

THEN....we headed off to celebrate the true meaning of Easter! Christ has risen! All of the children's classes were combined and we went from station to station getting stickers to put on their paper, each one representing a piece of the Resurrection Story. They especially liked the scratch-off cross craft.

Our family then headed to the park to find a spot to enjoy the day. The weather was so spotty, but ended up sunny on and off with a bit of wind. I was glad the rain stayed away so that the kids could enjoy some time with their cousins at the park. We first had a delicious lunch of sub sandwiches, deviled eggs, German potato salad, macaroni salad, fruit salad and chips They then played a bit of bocce ball, frisbee, football and baseball.

When it came time for the egg hunting, Loren and Laney first hid eggs with Gary....all 120 of them! Being 12 and 13 years old, the kind of liked doing the hiding of the eggs this year, although it made me nostalgic. :'( Then they ran wild collecting the eggs. There was a little bit of drama between Liam and Landon because Landon found the silver egg with a dollar in it. Oh well, life isn't fair, right? Life lesson learned today.

HAPPY EASTER!
