Tai O Fishing Village
Today we (us 4 and in-laws) went to Tai O, an old stilt fishing village on the west coast Lantau Island about an hour and a half away by public transport from where we live in Discovery Bay. I've been before but didn't get chance to really investigate and anyway I enjoyed it so much the first time, I was happy to return. We took a trip on a boat to see if we could see any dolphins - and we did - but only very briefly before taking a quick tour around the stilt village. The village itself is somewhat rundown but its very charming nonetheless! It was a very humid day today and walking around tends to zap you of energy but its an enjoyable way to spend a bank holiday as long as you don't mind being joined by every Tom, Dick and Harry enjoying their day off too! Jack absolutely hates the smell of all the fish, dried and fresh and spent quite a bit of time shouting 'it stinks here' which isn't exactly the response we were expecting, but it's very Jack, nothing he says is in a whisper!! Charlie had to be pushed round in the pram for the first time in a long time, because as some of you may know, he squashed his foot in a ferry mishap yesterday - seems to be on the mend now though! Back to normal tomorrow - boys back at School, Rich back to work, in-laws off on their French adventure and me back to early morning pack lunch making!
