Ruby Breathes Again
After nine months (or so) of sitting in our garage and then parked on somebody else's front lawn, Ruby lives again. I had a bit of backwards and forwards-ing with the exhaust - it wasn't original. I also had a bit of backwards and forwards-ing with the carb, throttle linkage and air cleaner - they weren't original either. Also a bit of backwards and forwards-ing with the fuel pump - it wasn't....
You get the idea.
But after all that time sitting in bits, she roared (literally) into full noise after only twenty seconds cranking. Smoke spewed out the back and the new exhaust paint smoked away happily at the front. Then I was able to drive her back home where the final tweaks can be done before the all-important warrant of fittness. She's in the garage at home now. The place is still red-stickered from the earthquake but to hell with it. I'm sick of working on somebody else's lawn.
But as we have no electricity, I'm still using a head torch.
