Taraxacum officinale
This grand sounding latin name betrays the sheer ordinariness of this pest of a plant.
Loved by herbalists the world over who use its roots, leaves and flowers for various remedies. Drinks are made with various parts of the plant and it's even commercially grown in some places. To me and most other folks I know with a patch of grass somewhere in their garden, this is a beast to be slain before it can transmit it's manifold fruit to every corner of the neighbourhood.
You and I know it as the dandelion.
