..the leopard in you.....

This is Pasha our Bengal Leopard cat.

I've blipped her twice before but it's taken 295 days to get a decent shot of her.

She's 15 years old now and deaf as a post, but still incredibly vocal. She's not like a normal cat, she's loud and talks to us, leaving gaps for us to fill in. She used to be a fantastic hunter, but she's slowed down a bit, (well quite a bit really). If it's raining and she needs to go out she looks out of the back door and then goes to the front door in case the weather is different at the front.

Her favourite move is to wait until I settle down on the sofa and then she climbs up and settles on my chest with her cheek up against mine......and then she starts to purr......and then ever so slyly and carefully she turns her head......and bites my face! Not enough to draw blood, it's almost like a kiss, but it's a definite bite. Then having shown me that she owns me, she goes to sleep.

Truth be told she's not overly bright, she's run into closed glass doors, fallen in the pond, lost about 12 collars and can't get the idea that frogs and toads are not good to eat, neither are bees and wasps. She doesn't tolerate other cats at all, thats why she's an only cat, and she certainly rules the roost around here, all the other cats give her a wide berth.

On the odd occasion when the Boss is out at work and I'm off, Pasha likes to sneak into bed with me, head on the Boss's pillow and the rest of her under the duvet, but mainly , now that The Son and Heir has gone, she likes to sleep in with the Daughter.

The Boss has just stuck her head through the patio door to tell me our local bat is doing circuits of the garden about 10 feet off the ground, so I'm off to watch for a while. See you again tomorrow.

Das vidanya moy padruga.
