starting early

Flea will be 11 tomorrow!

As we won't all be together at all tomorrow, we decided to have birthday tea today and open presents. Tomorrow we'll have birthday cake with those that are around and, in a few weeks time, we're going camping for the weekend with some special treats thrown in as her birthday outing. Due to the fact that most of the family have their birthdays sitting on top of Christmas, we don't give any big presents for birthdays, we rather give Christmas and Easter presents and have special family outings for birthdays.

Thinking about Flea's birth is always a bit difficult because it was horrible in so many ways! But I fell in love with her funny little Flea-ness from the first second of meeting her and, even though she was a VERY difficult baby (she alternated between screaming and screaming) and a sickly and difficult toddler and a slightly bizarre small child, well, she's turned out just fine...and just a bit weird. Which means she fits in with us perfectly.
