Mummy & Ethan day

Today was the weekly Thursday "mummy & Ethan day". No work for me today - just a day of fun with my boy.

Popped down to Morrisons with him in the morning to do the weekly shop. We usually walk but it was tanking down with rain today so we drove. Bumped in to a friend and her wee boy there so had a long natter with her. We ended up not having time to take the shopping home before Ethan's swimming class so it was straight to the swimming pool for us. We normally go down early so he can have a nap in the car before the class but didn't have time today. He was great during the first half of the class but the lack of sleep clearly then hit him. He didn't want to stay in the pool but kept climbing up the steps and just wanting to sit on the side. He got very grumpy each time I tried to take him back in the pool.

He then fell asleep in the car on the way home, woke up when I transferred him to the sofa but I got him back to sleep again. He had been asleep for an hour and a half when I had to wake him as we were going out. We had been invited to a celebration tea party at St Johns Hospital which the woman who runs the breastfeeding group we used to go to had organised. It was to celebrate the hospital being awarded the Unicef Baby Friendly Certificate of Commitment Award. As well as lots of members of staff she had also invited myself and Mrs42 as we were both regular attendees of the group last year. Ethan & Baby42 enjoyed seeing each other again and playing and getting lots of attention from all the people there. They also had some celebratory cake (although I only discovered too late that the fruit cake Ethan demolished had whiskey in it! Oops)!

Mrs42 then came back to ours for a cuppa and a blether. Granny & Grandpa and hubbie also arrived while she was still here so Ethan was very pleased to have such a full house!
